Rob Allen is a Professor in Social History. His primary interest is in radicals of the late 19th century in the UK and the USA. He is currently writing a book on Agitation and Indignation in the late 19th century, as well as curating a collection of English political street cartoons from the 1870s. He has written and lectured on the broad area of Populism, contrasting the early twenty-firs and late 19th nineteenth centuries. He also writes and lectures on the Arts and Crafts movement and particularly the work and life of the designer, poet and socialist, William Morris.
